Breasts. Butts. Noses. And now, add labia to the list of body parts that women feel the need to operate on.

Labiaplasty, a surgery reducing the size of the inner lips of the vagina, is the latest craze in the world of plastic surgery.

Over the past decade, there’s been a five-fold increase of labiaplasty surgeries in the UK alone.

While women can suffer real discomfort from protruding inner labia chafing, many use it as an excuse to “beautify” their vaginas.

The main reason for dissatisfaction is that the picture in the mirror does not correspond with what women see in media and particularly in pornographic movies, researchers say.
