Making people’s fantasies a reality and cashing in on all things kinky is the life of a dominator. We caught up with male dominant and escort John Dalton in London, to find out what life is really like when you kick people in the balls for a living. Is it really all work, all kink, and no play?

Why do you do what you do?

I’m my own boss, and I love the flexibility that gives me. I see the lifestyle as an interesting business challenge, but also, I would be lying if I said the money doesn’t motivate me.

Who desires a dominator? Give us a profile!

My clients range in age from 25 to 71, but it’s mainly middle-aged men who can’t make their fantasies a reality elsewhere. I also see disabled people, transgender people and such.

What’s the most out-there thing you’ve been asked to do?

I get all kinds of kinky requests. Mostly, people want to be told what to do; some want me to tell them where to get tattoos. Some ask for cock- and ball torture. Foot fetishism is incredibly common, as is spanking, oil wrestling, verbal humiliation and sexual sibling-role-play.

What are the most common things clients ask for?

It’s important for me to be open-minded, but clients asking me to lock them up and leave them in a cupboard overnight, or people who want me to choke them, I’ll say no to for health reasons. I was also very uncomfortable with racial abuse; reading the slurs some of my clients wanted me to use felt horrible. With time I’ve realised that this is my job, I help people fulfill even the strangest fantasy. Customer satisfaction is everything.

Do you get sexual pleasure from being a dominator?

I get real fulfilment and enjoyment out of my job and BDSM is integrated into my own sexuality, but a lot of it is just work for me, and something I do for the money.
